Starr, a.k.a Yvonne Mulugi, is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, model and actress who has broke out onto the Ugandan music scene and instantly grabbed the attention of many music followers. The diva already has her music on rotation, being played on major radio stations and night hangout spots.
Prior to having started her music journey at quite an early age of nine, Queen Vee is determined to make a mark on the very busy and competitive industry. As a young kid, Starr
loved spending time with friends in vocal and dancing competitions. She also performed at local night clubs and a few concerts as she grew up. She, and her friends formed the ‘God’s Generation’ gospel music group which performed in various churches across East Africa.
Queen Vee, who has Rwandan roots, started her modelling career in Tanzania in 2013 when she became the BASATA female top model, at a function where the then Tanzanian President HE Jakaya Kikwete was the guest of honor. This early modelling background helped her clinch big deals with major modelling agencies across Africa. She also worked with different other modelling agencies in Germany, USA and France.
Coming back home, In 2016, Yvonne started recording with many young talented producers in Uganda including Witty Witty, Nash Wonder, Diggy Baur, Andre among others. She also achieved curtain raising performances for some big artistes like Jose Chameleone, Eddy Kenzo, Irene Ntale, Sheebah, among others. She has done songs like ‘Never Knew‘, ‘Mpambatila‘, ‘Give Me Time‘, among others.
